Two Robert Galbreaths and Mary Brannons?
Dr. Rush's Ledger transcribed by Hannah Benner Roach in Colonial Philadelphians shows he had a patient in 1775 who Rush identified as "Mr. Galbraith-Mr. Branon Son-in-Law - Lettitia Co't". (i.e., Latitia Court, off Front Street). Roach identifies Galbraith as Robert, spouse to Mary Brannon, marriage license granted 16 August 1773. Note that Robert Galbraith was recorded in Chestnut Ward Philadelphia in 1767.
Jean Harriger and others say that Robert Galbraith (son to James and Elizabeth Bertram Galbraith) married Mary Dill Brannan on that date. This was reportedly the second marriage for both. They lived in Allen Twp of Cumberland County. How could Robert in this case have a Brannon father-in-law? Were there two couples with the same names?
Looking for a solution.
